There’s a way to beat the airlines at their own game

Do you find the modern world of buying plane tickets to be incredibly frustrating? One day, a ticket may be £150, the next it could be as high as £400! That is outrageous, but true. Air tickets are wildly sensitive to supply and demand and savvy airlines know how to jack up their prices or lower them depending on how many ticket sales their making or what price their competitors are selling tickets. But there are ways to get around this. You can save and enjoy your trip more knowing that the greedy airlines did not rip you off!

The easiest and most basic rule is to buy your tickets about two months in advance. This is how far out most airlines build their schedules and start to fill up their planes. But the planes will still be empty and lots of tickets to sell. You can often snatch up the best price here. This isn’t always the case — there are times when an airplanes supply exceeds their demand and they have to have last-minute firesales, but you’re better guaranteed to get a good price on average for the dates you want when you buy eight weeks out.

What if you don’t have eight weeks? Well, this takes a savvier customer. The best time to buy is almost a science. Travel experts have determined that 3 p.m. on Tuesday is the absolute best time to buy an airplane ticket, and weekends are the worst time. Why? Well, as the week goes on, planes fill up, and most people think to put off travel plans till their workweeks are almost done. On the weekends, airlines themselves may not have as big of staff and prices will automatically jump up as tickets sell. When the airline sales agents are back in their offices on Monday, they may lower their prices to adjust a human-determined market reality. Which leaves Tuesday afternoon — long enough for the airlines to lower expectations, but early enough that demand hasn’t upped the price right back up.

Philippines is known to be one of the fastest rising destinations in Asia because of the different places that it can offer. From its main airport which is Manila, tourists can travel to various places that can showcase the country’s history. You may want to bask in the beauty of these destinations but you have to remember that there are still some tips that you can remember so that you can stay safe in this country:

  • Travel to Areas Safe for Tourists – There may be different areas in the Philippines wherein a lot of tourists usually flock but then again, there are some places that are known to be beautiful but can be unsafe. Some kidnappings are done in the southern side of the Philippines, especially in some areas in Mindanao but other places can be safer for tourists.
  • Choose Areas Depending on What You Want – Some areas in the Philippines are known for their fun nightlife. You may want to try Clark and Boracay in order to meet new people especially beautiful locals in the Philippines but you may also choose to go to quieter destinations like Bohol, Baguio and Camiguin so that you can experience tranquility and serenity even when you are in a different place.
  • Have Cash – It is important that you have already exchanged your money to their currency which is Philippine Peso so that you can easily purchase your necessities that you will need during your stay like toiletries and even food.
  • Choose Bottled Water – This is not only applicable to travelling to the Philippines but also to other places as well. You have to make sure that you will drink bottled water instead of their usual tap water so you can be sure that you will stay healthy while on vacation.
  • Expect Heavy Traffic – In the Philippines, a lot of roads are being excavated in order to improve on the roads. Some are undergoing road widening procedures while some are just too narrow for normal vehicles. There are also a lot of vehicles in the country because they are considered to be affordable there. 1. Plan Ahead

In the days leading up to your trip, shift your sleeping schedule. Figure out the time difference between your current time and the local time of your destination. Look at your travel itinerary to determine what time and day you will arrive. In the few days before your trip, try to get as close as you can to the destination time; wake up an hour earlier or later, and eat your meals earlier or later. Figure out what will work best for you and take time to get your body ready.

2. Avoid Stress

Travelling can be stressful for even the most relaxed person. 4. Stay Hydrated

Travelling long distances, especially on planes, can make you dehydrated. Often when travelling and taking adventures, people can forget to drink water and eat properly. Jetlag can be exacerbated if you are dehydrated. Drinking plenty of water can help to lessen the effects of jetlag and help you to feel better as you acclimatise to the new time zone. 5. Keep Moving

Once you get off the plane, keep moving. Plan plenty of activities immediately upon your arrival. By doing things, you will keep yourself awake and curb your tiredness. If you nap during the day when you arrive, you could find yourself waking up at odd hours and unable to fall asleep or transition into a suitable sleeping pattern. Try to stay awake until a suitable early local bed time. Each subsequent day will then be easier to stay awake longer and help you to adapt to the current time zone.
